This project was my response to an assignment that asked students to say “hello” to the Stewart Platform — in other words, the task was to familiarize ourselves with the process of controlling the Stewart Platform via OSC signals sent from Unreal Engine 4.

In addition to planning the camera’s path through my selected environment, I also had to set and fine tune various numeric values in order to move the Stewart Platform in a way that felt natural based on that camera path. As a final touch, I also decided to compose a simple song to really set the mood of the ride; when designing an experience, one must not forget the importance of sound! I think I could have achieved a similar outcome had I found a pre-existing song, but I really wanted to compose my own so that I could synchronize the mood of the song with the journey of this ride (and so that I could add in a little musical moment to give a voice to the wolf seen about halfway through the ride!).

I created my composition in and exported the audio from MuseScore 3. You can give it a listen by watching the demo video.
